Innovative Railway Safety Ltd
This World patented system exceeds the safety requirements of the European Standard EN 13374 (class A), and is approved by Network Rail (PA05 05085), TUV and Deutsche-Bahn in Germany. Currently in use by Network Rail and several major contractors in the UK and Europe (we export to 17 countries), its use gives major advantages over conventional systems, not least of which are the benefits of not having to remove ballast on installation or replace and re-tamp ballast after dismantling. Additionally, it protects the workforce from carcinogens in the form of Silica ballast dust, and from inhaling other ballast borne diseases such as Weill’s disease and Leptospirosis. In trials, erection and dismantling has proved to be up to 20 times quicker than conventional barrier systems allowing erection/dismantling to take place in a SSOW in ‘line-blockages’ rather than ‘full possessions’ for some jobs – you can erect 102m in 15mins with a gang of 5 (five) track workers (see web-site ’Beeston Trial’).
