Bratts Ladders

Bratts Ladders manufacture non conductive Ladders, Steps and Platforms in Timber and Glassfibre. We also fabricate in Aluminium, Steel and Stainless Steel. We run nationally accredited training courses, offer advice on maintenance routines and do repairs. We have been supplying the railways since 1938 and are reassuringly expensive. If you or your customer have a WAH (Work at Height) problem, we can help. Bratts have been making ladders since 1895. We supply every major electricity company in the UK with non-conductive access equipment. We also supply telecom and gas utilities, chemical, oil, rail, aviation, construction and similar industries worldwide. We are the only UK manufacturer utilising BS1129 Class 1 for Timber and BS EN131 Kitemark Glass Fibre ladders, stepladders, platforms and specialist access equipment for industrial use. All our Glass Fibre products comply with ANSI 14-5 and ESI 13-1. We also supply a large range of BS2037 Class 1 Aluminium ladders, steps and other equipment. The British Standard Kitemark (BS) is only awarded to products that pass strict regular testing, which guarantees you continuous audited quality. EN131 alone does not. We worked with the HSE (Health and Safety Executive) to help produce the Work at Height Regs 2005 and the new HSE Guidance for Industry 2014. We can therefore advise on access equipment use within these procedures. We also sit on the Ladder and Stepladder Standards committee at the British Standards Institute with the HSE, BERR, Trading Standards, Consumer Groups and our EEC partners. In response to requests from several major companies, we have developed the SLS (Safe Ladder System©) which has proved a safer way to work at height with ladders and platforms. Bratts can bespoke manufacture access equipment to your own specification, quote for repairs, run certified training courses and advise on maintenance routines and log books. We still maintain the Timber ladders we made for one utility over 28 years ago!
