Light after Dark to Feature as part of SAFESTART18  

The Rail Alliance is delighted to announce that Light after Dark will now be featured as part of rail safety event, SAFESTART18 which takes place at Stoneleigh Park, 25 January 2018.

The prime objective of SAFESTART is to deliver a clear and coherent safety message across the entire railway industry by providing a focused platform for the industry to get-together and begin the year with safety at the forefront to undertaking work on the railway – and this includes working safely at night and in dark conditions..

The Track Safety Alliance are also supporting SAFESTART18  and will play a pivotal role in shaping the safety forums with Bill Cooke(Head of Safety & Assurance IP Track – Network Rail & Deputy Chairman TSA Leadership) speaking as a keynote presenter as part of the conference .  There will be six separate meeting  rooms with briefing sessions running alongside the conference (all free to attend) running during the day with morning and afternoon session.  Along with Selectequip (with Nightsearcher) the TSA will host safety sessions in the mezzanine meeting room, Hall 1 as follows:


  • 10:00 – 10:30      Session 1 – Prep4Winter reducing slips, trips and falls through sufficient lighting  (TSA – Selectequip / Nightsearcher)
  • 10:45 – 11:15      Session 2 – TSA Behavioural Based Safety
  • 13:00 – 13:30      Session 3 – TSA Environmental update
  • 13:40 – 14:15       Session 4 – TSA / ISLG Fatigue, Collaborative Working
