This event concentrates on exciting news and business opportunities in support of the Welsh region and its routes.
We will hear from Will Scott from Siemens about their intentions for the Core Valley Lines Transformation which includes renewal and replacement of lineside signalling infrastructure as well as the creation of a new Control Centre providing intelligent infrastructure. There will also be a presentation from Transport for Wales (TfW) in terms of supply chain opportunities and outlining any processes that may be required for suppliers to follow – Aled Huish, Supply Chain Manager for Transport for Wales will take us through the recent changes to TfW as well as the opportunities for doing business with/for/on the Welsh region and routes. Additionally, we will hear from Howard Jacobson and Tristian Jones (Business Wales and Sell2Wales respectively) about how their portals can help in getting your business noticed in and around Wales. Last, but certainly not least, we will hear from Arthur Emyr about the exciting news about the Global Centre for Rail Excellence at the Onllywn/Nant Helen site north east of Swansea (if you do not know about this scheme then check out the YouTube video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKSgaw3MbM0); Arthur will take us through the proposal and outline the Phase 1 ambitions and if this project is to deliver innovation, then its specification and construction will need innovation at its heart!
We look forward to seeing you there!
