Commutare Design Services in association with NAL (TfL approved supplier of various street furniture and highway equipment) whilst at TfL. TfL had identified that few people knew or understood who was responsible for the 6,500 sets of Traffic Signals throughout Greater London and whilst an earlier campaign introduced a sticker this was only a short term measure. Commutare Design Services came up with a range of possible solutions to improved asset recognition and brand identity (although this was the only one to be progressed). NAL manufactured a bespoke branded Retention Socket Access Cover which gave TfL another advantage of ensuring the foundations were clearly identifiable even when the Pole was temporarily removed. So whilst a simple enhancement it enables the authority to ‘reach out’ to its users and share with them who is primarily responsible for the amenity, ownership, assert management and investment in the network.
