MBA Course Details

The University of Worcester MBA (Masters in Business Administration) can be studied over two or three years (part-time) or one year (full-time). The course has been adapted to meet the needs of the railway industry and its related organisations, in discussion with the West Midlands Rail Alliance. The MBA for the rail sector commences in January 2009, at the University of Worcester, with modules delivered on a one-day per month basis.
The MBA prepares you to be a skilled and knowledgeable leader who can influence people, offer strategic direction, and make good use of financial, human and technical resources. We will help you develop creative thought and insight and challenge you to stretch your natural abilities. You will study alongside senior managers from a diverse range of business and professional backgrounds and organisations within the Rail industry. You will also benefit from sharing your experiences of leadership and management styles in different organisational cultures.


Specifically the course offers:

  • A real world leadership and management focus
  • A one-day per month delivery mode (initially offered at the University), with experienced tutors and supported via on-line learning and other study material.
  • An opportunity to study alongside practitioners from a wide range of backgrounds and organisations within the rail industry

  • The chance to further investigate change affecting your industry and/ organisation through an independent research project
