Bangladesh Rail Mission
17th September 2017 @ 8:00 am - 19th September 2017 @ 12:00 pm
Led by the Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy, Rushanara Ali MP
UK railway suppliers are invited to join a 2½ day intensive rail mission aimed at engagement with senior officials, clients and contractors covering many different aspects of various metro and rail modernisation projects currently being planned or underway in market.
There are opportunities across all aspects of the rail and public transportation supply chain. Current opportunities include Dhaka Metro Lines 1 and 5, Dhaka to Chittagong High Speed Railway, Bangabandhu Railway Bridge Construction Project, Dhaka to Tongi subway project, facilities management, operation and maintenance contracts, consultancy services and equipment supply in other rail and metro projects.
The visit will provide UK companies with a unique opportunity to understand the opportunities that exist in Bangladesh and to take part in meetings at senior level with related officials and railway contacts.
During the visit, subject to final confirmation, it is expected that the delegation will take part in separate group meetings with the Bangladesh Railways Authority, Foreign Ministry, Commerce Minister, Dhaka Mayor’s office, Dhaka Mass Transport Company and the Bangladesh Bridge Authority as well as attending a Bangladesh Rail Infrastructure pipeline presentation by ADB and others.
Additionally, the missioners will be invited to attend a British High Commissioner’s networking dinner with the British Business Community and a Trade Envoy Rail Networking Reception at the British High Commission. During the visit, delegates will be provided with an opportunity to arrange individual meetings with contractors and clients.
Prior to the mission, it is expected that a briefing will take place in London hosted by the Trade Envoy, with dial-in facilities for those that cannot attend in person.
